Membership Benefits |
| The benefits of MAPC membership are both broad and rewarding, and include access to continuing education, apprenticeship programs, joint lobbying efforts, labor and industry relations, affirmative action and social events. |
 Monthly Meetings |
| Members are encouraged to attend monthly meetings of the MAPC. Six of the monthly meetings are devoted to continuing education seminars relevant to industry issues, which are open to all members. Meetings in January, April and September are devoted to membership business and are closed to Associate members. The June meeting is an open business meeting and discussion forum for all members, Contractors, Associates and Plumber Associates. |
| Education |
| The Association sponsors six continuing education seminars and programs that cover topics relevant to the Plumbing Industry, such as Code changes or revisions. Continuing Education Seminars are open to Contractors Members, their employees, Associate Members and Plumber Associates. To keep the membership abreast of the many changes taking place in the industry, the Association provides each member with a copy of the monthly Wisconsin Plumbing Code Report. This publications provides ongoing updates and revisions to the Plumbing Code, official Code Interpretations, a summary of product approvals, a listing of licenses issued, cancelled or revoked, and other relevant information. |
| Legislation |
| The interests of the plumbing industry and its Master Plumbers are protected and defended through the MAPC affiliation with the State (PHCC-WA) and National (PHCC-NA) industry associations. The lobbying efforts of these watchdog associations are essential to the survival of the plumbing industry. |
| Apprenticeship Program |
| The Association provides representation on the Joint Apprenticeship Committee in overseeing the training of apprentices and the advanced training of journey workers. |
| Industry Liaison |
| Members benefit from the friendly relationships the Association maintains with other branches of the construction industry, the architects, engineers, city, state and federal officials, and the general public. Membership cultivates a cooperative spirit among member competitors, and encourages mutual respect. |
| Affirmative Action |
| The Association has been instrumental in assisting members with information and representation in field Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) audits. MAPC has also promoted programs designed to secure more minorities, women and underrepresented groups for employment in the plumbing industry. |
| Labor Relations |
| Members can seek Association assistance on labor issues when needed, and as appropriate, the Association staff will attempt to intercede with the Local Union for those contractors that are Union affiliated. |
| Roster |
| An annual roster of contractor, associate and honorary MAPC members with addresses and phone numbers and contacts is provided for each member. |
| Social Functions |
| Social functions, including a summer outing of Plumbing, Mechanical and Sheet Metal Contractors with affiliated industry colleagues and officials, golf outing, and several holiday parties are held throughout the year. |
| Web-Site |
| Contractor and Associate Members will be able to participate in the Association Web-Site. The Web-Site will not only have the Member’s contact information, but will also include a brief description of the firm itself. |
| Member Services |
| The Association Staff is always available for questions and concerns, and is working to develop services and programs that will provide education, information, and cost savings to member firms. |
